Privacy Policy
Effective as of April 9, 2026
Introduction
TighterWallet LLC ("TighterWallet", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit https://www.tighterwallet.com, use any of our lead-matching or referral services, or interact with our communications (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Services.
TighterWallet is an independent comparison and referral platform. We are not a lender, credit counselor, or debt relief provider, and we do not make credit decisions. We match consumers with third-party financial service providers who may contact them with offers.
Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways, including:
Personal Data
Personally identifiable information you voluntarily provide to us when you complete a form or otherwise interact with the Services, such as your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, employment and income information, approximate debt balance, and similar financial situation details necessary to match you with providers.
Derivative Data
Information our servers and our analytics providers automatically collect when you access the Services, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, access times, pages viewed, and the UTM and campaign parameters attached to your visit.
Mobile Device Data
Device information such as your mobile device ID, model, manufacturer, and approximate location (derived from IP), if you access the Services from a mobile device.
Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to help operate, secure, analyze, and advertise the Services. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of tracking technologies used on this site, including the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads Conversion Tracking, and Google Tag Manager.
How We Use Your Information
We use information we collect about you to:
- Match you with third-party lenders, debt relief providers, and other financial service providers in our network.
- Facilitate your request to be contacted by those providers by phone, SMS, email, or postal mail.
- Measure and optimize the performance of our marketing, including attribution to paid advertising campaigns on platforms such as Meta and Google.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, TCPA non-compliance, and abuse of the Services.
- Comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
- Respond to your questions, requests, and feedback.
How We Share Your Information
The core purpose of the Services is to connect consumers with financial service providers. By submitting your information, you expressly authorize us to share that information with those providers so they may contact you about their products and services.
Categories of Recipients
- Lenders and debt relief providers — personal loan lenders, debt consolidation lenders, debt settlement companies, debt management and credit counseling organizations, and similar financial service providers in our partner network. Your lead may be shared with up to 15 such providers per submission.
- Lead-distribution and marketplace platforms — real-time lead routing systems (including PingTree) that distribute your information to buyers in our network.
- Service providers — vendors that perform services on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, email and SMS delivery, customer support, and advertising optimization, who are contractually bound to use your information only for the purposes we specify.
- Advertising partners — Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google, for attribution and optimization of our advertising campaigns. This may include sharing hashed email addresses, hashed phone numbers, and other identifiers for matching.
- Legal and safety — government authorities or other third parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, protect the safety of any person, or investigate fraud.
- Business transfers — a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets.
Because we share and may "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state privacy laws, you have a right to opt out. See "Your State Privacy Rights" below and our Do Not Sell or Share page.
Telephone, SMS, and Email Communications (TCPA)
When you submit your information through a TighterWallet form, you may provide your express written consent to be contacted by TighterWallet and by the matched financial service providers at the phone number and email address you provide, including by automated telephone dialing system, artificial or pre-recorded voice messages, and text/SMS messages, even if your number is registered on a federal or state Do Not Call list. Consent to be contacted in this manner is not required as a condition of receiving any product or service. Standard message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out of these communications at any time. See our Unsubscribe / Preference Center or reply STOP to any SMS message to stop SMS from that sender. Opting out of communications from TighterWallet does not automatically opt you out of communications from providers with whom you have already been matched; to opt out with a specific provider, contact them directly.
Cookies and Advertising Technology
We use cookies and other tracking technologies to analyze traffic and deliver relevant advertising. These include first-party cookies and third-party cookies set by Meta, Google, and other advertising and analytics partners. For a complete list, the category of each technology, and how to manage your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.
Your State Privacy Rights
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"), grants you the following rights:
- Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise these rights, visit our Do Not Sell or Share page or email support@tighterwallet.com. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days as required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Florida, and Oregon Residents
If you are a resident of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), Florida (FDBR), or Oregon (OCPA), you may have rights similar to those under the CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise these rights, email support@tighterwallet.com.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a valid GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and out of targeted advertising where required by law.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law:
- Lead data (name, contact details, financial information): up to 24 months from the date of collection unless a longer retention period is legally required.
- TCPA consent records: minimum of 5 years, consistent with the applicable statute of limitations.
- Server logs and IP data: typically 90 days.
- Suppression and opt-out records: retained indefinitely so we can honor your opt-out on a continuing basis.
When you request deletion of your personal information, we will delete it from our active systems and will notify the partner providers who received your lead so that they can process the deletion in accordance with their own obligations and agreements with us.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect the personal information you provide to us. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure your information, please be aware that no security measure is perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or misuse. You provide personal information to us at your own risk.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach involving your unencrypted personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators in accordance with the notification timelines required by federal law and the privacy laws of your state of residence.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The Services are intended for users 18 years of age and older. TighterWallet does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@tighterwallet.com.
Do Not Track
Most web browsers include a Do Not Track ("DNT") feature. Because no uniform standard for responding to DNT signals has been adopted, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. We do, however, honor valid Global Privacy Control signals as described above.
Third-Party Websites
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, including the websites of matched providers. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit before providing them with any personal information.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Effective" date above and, where required, by providing additional notice through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after any change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
